This has come as a real blow to the Arsenal fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…
Arsenal have enjoyed a strong start to the season – but this weekend’s clash against lowly Sunderland looks set to, unexpectedly, be one of the toughest tests of the season.
Whilst Arsenal are expected to dominate the game and come away with a comfortable victory, Arsene Wenger is surely sweating on his team selection – with the Gunners suffering a number of injury blows ahead of the clash.
News broke yesterday that Lucas Perez would be unavailable for the game after picking up a long-term injury.

The Arsenal fans in the Tavern were concerned about this one on its own – but now the club have confirmed that their injury list is actually extensive.
As per Arsenal on Twitter, the Gunners are sweating on the fitness of the trio of Walcott, Monreal and Cazorla – who will all have late fitness tests today.

Whilst they do not clarify on the likelihood of the trio making it through, the fact that each will not be at 100% is certainly a concern.
Walcott, in particular, is a big worry – as he has been Arsenal’s key man so far this season. Equally, Cazorla and Monreal have been near-constants; and have established their importance under Arsene Wenger.
They will still be expected to win the Sunderland game – but without some of their key stars; other players will be forced to step up.
