The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t too pleased about this…
As confirmed by Tottenham on Twitter, the Lilywhites are set to travel to Hong Kong at the end of the season, with Mauricio Pochettino’s side set to take on Kitchee SC in a post-season friendly.
See that Tweet below…

Post-season friendlies have become more and more common in recent years as clubs look to make the most of sponsorship deals, and so our landlord is not surprised about this decision. Of course, following the trip and after a bit of time off, Tottenham will likely jet off elsewhere – as Tottenham take part in what is likely to be another money-spinning pre-season regime.
The Tottenham fans on Twitter have had a fairly similar reaction to those in the pub, with many questioning whether this is really the best decision for Tottenham. Given that the Lilywhites are unlikely to seal a Premier League trophy this year, many fear that another long trip could prevent the team from recovering adequately ahead of next season.
In truth, it is very hard to disagree…

@SpursOfficial Last time you took the team to HongKong, you sold a star player in Bale. Don’t do it this time…
