The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern aren’t feeling too perky today after their side’s game against Rochdale on Sunday. Despite heading into the fixture as clear favourites, they were pegged back at the death – with Rochdale picking up a last-gasp goal to set up a return leg at Wembley.
In truth, the League One outfit were good value for the draw, and whilst they’re struggling in the league at present, they looked good enough to pull off a shock against the Lilywhites – and they did just that.
Tottenham’s failure to pick up a win can be put down to a few things. Rochdale’s performance, certainly, made life tough for them – but Spurs fans are pointing to something else at the moment. Indeed, they’re placing a lot of significance on the disappointing display of their team, and more specifically, a few poor individual performances.
One player that has earned more criticism than most is striker Fernando Llorente. The Spaniard has really struggled to settle at Wembley, and it’s pretty clear that he’s running out of chances at Tottenham.
Following the game, Spurs fans have taken to Twitter to reveal their frustration at the result, and they’re not being too kind to Llorente.
