Our West Ham fans here in the Transfer Tavern were certainly brought crashing back down to Earth over the weekend after their loss to Manchester United.
The men from east London were going into this campaign fairly optimistic thanks to some of the signings that they’d made over the summer but that soon ebbed away as United found themselves in complete control.
Indeed, the men from Old Trafford cruised to a 4-0 win to leave the Hammers travelling back south licking their wounds and hoping that that is only going to be a brief blip.
Certainly, an avoidance of last season is going to be expected this time out and after the result plenty of fans voiced their opinions on Twitter.
