A Snip At Just £5M, Caetano de Araújo Would Bring Vital Experience To Arsenal

Reports coming out of Germany over the weekend have suggested that Hertha Berlin striker Raffael Caetano de Araújo, has emerged as a January transfer target for Arsenal.

Arsenal have reportedly been scouting the 26 year-old midfielder since the start of the season and they have been impressed by what they have seen so far, and they could be set to launch a bid for him in January.

The Brazilian-born midfielder, known as just Raffael, has scored twice in six Bundesliga games for Hertha Berlin in the current campaign so far, after their return to the top flight this season.

Despite signing Yossi Benayoun and Mikel Arteta before the close of the transfer window, Arsenal are still in the market for another midfielder to plug the gaps left by the departures of Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri.

But especially after hearing the news that Jack Wilshere will be out for another three months, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is desperate to a add another midfielder to his squad.

It looks like Raffael is the man that Wenger has identified and the midfielder, who is contracted to Hertha until 2014, would come cheap as he is only valued at around €5 million.
