Wolves: Adama Traore’s Barcelona frustrations reveal why he would happily play for Real Madrid

Wolverhampton Wanderers star Adama Traore would not have any hesitations about moving to Real Madrid in the future, as reports in Spain have detailed why he would prefer the capital to his former club Barcelona.

End of the Molineux road?

The 24-year-old has been attracting a great amount of interest from several top clubs for some time after putting in several eye-catching displays during the 2019/20 campaign for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Liverpool and Manchester City were two of the sides in the Premier League but his £75m price tag placed on him by the Molineux club may have been too much for them, as they opted to sign Diogo Jota and Ferran Torres respectively.

Having previously played for Barcelona during his youth development, details were recently revealed about the way he was handled by the Catalan giants and an insight into his thought process was shared.

According to DefensaCentral, Traore would not return to Barcelona ‘under any circumstances’ after he was treated poorly and was left feeling ‘very hurt’ as a result.

With this in mind, if the opportunity came along for the £43,000-per-week speedster (via Spotrac) to move to the Spanish capital instead, he would ‘no problem’ in doing this, following in the footsteps of the great Luis Figo as one of few to play for both of Spain’s super clubs.

“It would not be a problem for me. I am not closing the door to anything,” the Molineux ace said of Madrid back in February. “Right now I am very happy here in England, the team is fantastic. It will be based on the decisions I make with my family.”

Nuno must monitor Traore closely

With the international transfer window now closed, Nuno has Traore at his disposal for at the very least another few months, but his interest in a massive move may worry the Portuguese tactician.

Reports like this are going to see his head turned as elite clubs throw their bait in the water. Having finished in the European places for the past two seasons in a row, Nuno will understand that he needs to retain the core of his squad and continue the club’s upwards trajectory.

Traore has scored nine goals and provided 15 assists from 95 appearances (per TransferMarkt) but his quick footwork, explosive power and speed are what he is best known for – a somewhat unorthodox footballer who would be a great asset in any Premier League or Champions League side. Nuno may soon have a job on his hands to sway the unstoppable winger away from the likes of Real Madrid, though it appears he won’t have to worry about any interest from Barcelona.
