When does the 2025/26 Premier League season begin?
The 2025/26 campaign gets underway on 15th August 2025. As in previous years, one match kicks off the season on a Friday, with the first game taking place between Liverpool and Bournemouth at Anfield.
Last year, Manchester United saw off Fulham 1-0 thanks to a late debut goal from Joshua Zirkzee.

What are the fixtures on the Premier League’s opening weekend?

The new season kicks off with champions Liverpool facing Bournemouth at Anfield. The highlight of Saturday’s action may well come at the Stadium of Light as Sunderland return to the top flight with a home clash against West Ham United, while Thomas Frank gets his Tottenham Hotspur tenure underway at home to Bournemouth.
The clash between Manchester United and Arsenal looks like the marquee fixture of the weekend, while Leeds host Everton on the opening weekend in their first Premier League game since May 2023.
