Chelsea’s midfield is packed with quality options — perhaps even to the point of excess.
Moisés Caicedo and Enzo Fernández remain key figures under Liam Rosenior, while Roméo Lavia has recently returned from injury and continues to impress when fit, despite ongoing fitness concerns.
Alongside them, emerging talents like Dário Essugo and Andrey Santos are pushing for regular roles. Santos, in particular, has enjoyed a breakout period, earning increased trust from Rosenior — who previously worked with him at Strasbourg and has labelled him “incredible.”
Despite that progress, however, the Brazilian’s long-term future is far from secure, with major European clubs beginning to circle.
Inter and Juventus ‘Closely Tracking’ Andrey Santos
Andrey Santos is now facing an uncertain situation at Chelsea, with growing interest from across Europe putting the club in a difficult position ahead of the summer window.
Caught Offside report that several top sides are monitoring the midfielder’s availability, meaning Chelsea may soon have to decide whether to keep or cash in as they shape their squad for next season.
In Serie A, both Inter Milan and Juventus are said to be “closely tracking” Santos. The Italian giants view him as a potential long-term solution in midfield, with Inter particularly impressed by his composure and tactical awareness, while Juventus are targeting younger, energetic players to refresh their squad.
Interest is not limited to Italy either. Clubs in the Premier League — including West Ham United and Manchester United — have also been linked with the 21-year-old as his stock continues to rise.
Despite enjoying an impressive spell at Strasbourg and becoming increasingly involved under Rosenior at Chelsea, Santos’ future remains up in the air. With strong interest building from multiple top clubs, the Blues could soon face a major decision over whether to fully integrate the “incredible” youngster — or risk losing him as demand continues to grow.
