Andy Gray Is A Complete Cad

Tottenham will come a cropper, Andy ‘Cadding’ Gray expects an easy win for Manchester City on Monday night.

The balloon headed Sky pundit thinks there’s going to be a lot of unhappy Spurs fans come the end of the campaign.  Gray, speaking courtesy of betfairfootball.com, believes a tough run-in will see the North Londoners’ dreams die.

“I’ve got bad news for Spurs fans – I cannot see your beloved Lilywhites finishing top four and winning the FA Cup. The harder task is undoubtedly the league and that is where you’ll come a cropper.”

“Tottenham’s record against Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea is just not good enough and Redknapp’s men will have to buck recent results against all three if they are to achieve their Champions League dreams. It’s not as if that trio of games is all their hard matches over and done with, a visit to Manchester City is also on the cards. Put simply, they play four of the top six clubs on the run-in. If they end up fourth they will have earned it. I think it’s a big ask”

“The thing is, it’s not just about Spurs needing to win. Those four teams are going to want to win as well so it’s doubly tough. Winning the Cup is another thing. They have to beat Portsmouth in the semi-final and will be favourites to do so. But Chelsea or Aston Villa will fancy their chances in the final. It could be double heartbreak for Spurs this year.”

Many people are pointing to the form of Gareth Bale, Roman Pavlyuchenko and David Bentley as evidence of Harry’s managerial cunning, but does he deserve all that praise? I think you should take each case on its own merits. Bale has always been an excellent footballer but Benoit Assou-Ekotto was playing at left-back and playing well. When the Frenchman got injured that gave Bale his chance, if Assou-Ekotto was not injured he might not have had that chance. It’s simple really, they’re both excellent players and both deserve credit. I have always thought Pavlyuchenko was a good footballer but maybe the penny has finally dropped with him. We all thought he was going in the transfer window, but like Bale, he’s been given an opportunity and is grabbing it with both hands.”

“As far as David Bentley is concerned there have probably been a few times when he thought he was leaving White Hart Lane but like Pavlyuchenko he’s taking his chance. Full marks for Redknapp for giving those players opportunities but they were all very good in the first place.”

Escapini says, ‘Oi Gray, why don’t you shove your tiresome anti Spurs bias up your big ask.’

Well now, when it comes to football, one man has for many years been the most noticeable, the most controversial, and occasionally the most successful blogger this country has ever produced. His pithy words and abrasive style make him as famous off the pitch as he is on it. This man is Escapini. "I love football. Football she's a cruel mistress. She's, she's more than a mistress. She's a wife, she's a mother, she's a daughter, she's an errant child. She's a… she's a… she can make you laugh, she make you cry. She can bring tears me eyes. She can bring blood to me shoulders. She can bring a kettle to the boil." "Cause football is about nothing, unless it's about something and what it is about, is football."
