Our Sunderland fans here in the Transfer Tavern have suffered quite a bit over the last few years and their latest signing appears to not be doing much to help that.
The Black Cats have announced via their official Twitter account that Joleon Lescott has joined the club as they bid to turn their season around once again.
As always they are threatened by relegation this season and need to start bucking their ideas up if they are to stay in the division but our locals aren’t sure Lescott is the answer.
Once a decent Premier League defender with Everton and Man City, Lescott really seemed past it last season for Aston Villa as they went down and it looked like his career in this country was as good as over.
He’s endured a pretty poor time with AEK Athens since then and now he’s back in this country he must know he has a point to prove.
Certainly many Sunderland fans are pretty uncertain he’s the man to get them out of their current plight and they have had plenty to say about it on Twitter.
