There is at least three or four fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern waiting for tonight’s Europa League tie.
And believe it or not that is a big, big crowd when you consider that nobody actually cares about the competition – except maybe Tottenham.
One side that certainly does not care about Thursday night live is Arsenal and they have been given a boost with the news that Antonio Candreva is edging closer to leaving Lazio.
That is according to TalkSport who claim that Lazio bosses are opposed to offering him a £1 million a season pay rise following an impressive season and World Cup.
Candreva scored 12 league goals last season and wants to become a top earner alongside German striker Miroslav Klose.
But the midfielder is becoming uneasy with his future less than secure and Arsenal and Chelsea could now make their move.
The 27-year old, who set up Mario Balotelli’s goal against England, is valued at £7 million – cheap in comparison to many deals nowadays.
