Arsenal dealt frustrating managerial news

Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern have seen their mood drop significantly this morning, after hearing reports of a deal that throws a major block in their club’s path.

Many fans in the bar believed that Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri was the perfect candidate to take over from Arsene Wenger, who is rapidly approaching the end of his contract and faces a wealth of pressure from the fans.

Whilst that pressure has been reduced in recent weeks with back-to-back Premier League victories over Middlesbrough and Leicester City, either side of a win against Manchester City in the FA Cup, many still believe it’s time for the long-serving Frenchman to move on.

However, a move for Allegri this summer has been ruled-out as The Sun reports the Italian boss is poised to sign a new contract with Juventus, following the club’s Champions League quarter-final success over Barcelona.

The victory on Europe’s elite stage leaves Juventus facing Monaco in the semi-finals of the tournament, with the first-leg next week, and the Turin giants are considered to be amongst the favourites to enjoy success in Cardiff next month.

Whilst the fans in the bar are understandably gutted, our landlord has stated he always believed Arsenal’s chances of securing Allegri were extremely slim.

Who should Arsenal eye to replace Wenger with Allegri out of the picture? Let us know in the comments below!
