Arsenal fans are gushing over 26-year-old defender Carl Jenkinson

Few players at Arsenal have had it tougher than Carl Jenkinson. Despite all of his efforts, the defender has never really been able to force his way into the first team at the Emirates. He’s had good moments, and he’s clearly a hard worker, but often for one reason or another, it just hasn’t happened for him.

It’s a shame, as he’s clearly an Arsenal man through and through, yet even a managerial change hasn’t been able to change things for him.

Indeed, he’s now 26-years-old, and so you’ve got to wonder, if it’s not going to happen now; will it ever happen?

“I push on, I keep working. That’s what I do best: work hard. I keep pushing and pushing. For personal pride, of course I want to be in the team.”

Well, some would argue no, but Jenkinson isn’t giving up. Indeed, Arsenal recently shared an interview with the Englishman on their official Twitter page, and it’s fair to say that he will keep trying his best to get a chance.

He said: “I push on, I keep working. That’s what I do best: work hard. I keep pushing and pushing. For personal pride, of course I want to be in the team”.

Unsurprisingly, his words have gone down well with Arsenal fans. Jenkinson has always been popular with supporters, given his homegrown status, but they’re loving his desire; and many want him to get a chance as opposed to selling him or loaning him out again:
