Arsenal fans were begging the club to sign ‘wonderkid‘ Jonathan David after reports emerged linking the club with a move for the Gent attacking midfielder.
According to reports (via Jeunes Footeaux), the Gunners are one of a number of clubs, who are chasing the Canada international. However, they face competition from Premier League rivals Everton as well as a number of clubs from France and Italy. The 20-year-old has enjoyed a brilliant campaign for the Belgian side, scoring a mammoth 19 goals and assisting a further 10 in 35 appearances across all competitions (via Transfermarkt).
He has been performing well in the Europa League this season and averages 1.2 shots per game, a figure that would leave him joint-sixth when compared to Mikel Arteta’s men, as per WhoScored and SofaScore.
