Arsenal: Fans excited after reports concerning Boubakary Soumare

Arsenal fans were displaying their excitement after reports concerning transfer target Boubakary Soumare emerged.

According to Sky Sports, the Gunners have joined Chelsea and Manchester United in the chase for the Lille midfielder, who is likely to be sold this month.

However, the trio of English clubs aren’t the only sides interested in the 20-year-old with Real Madrid and Valencia also among the teams looking for a move.

Soumare has enjoyed a stand-out season in Ligue 1 this campaign, having started all but two of Lille’s league games (via Transfermarkt).

His average of 1.2 fouls per league game is lower than Granit Xhaka (2.1) averages in the English top-flight.

The move comes after Xhaka’s future at the club was said to have been sorted during a meeting with Mikel Arteta.

The Spaniard revealed after the win over Manchester United that the Swiss midfielder had assured him he would remain at the Emirates Stadium (via Arsenal).

Good Xhaxa replacement. But I feel like he should carry on in Lille because I think he’s not quite ready for the pace of the premier league he would be a decent signing though
