Arteta has been linked with the vacant manager’s job at the Emirates Stadium with reports claiming he is the top of the club’s list to take over from Unai Emery (via Daily Star).
The club are looking for a new manager as they sacked Emery following a run of seven games without a win across all competitions.
While Emery was washed with experience, Arteta is yet to manage at any level in professional football.
The 37-year-old’s only real coaching experience at the top comes in the form of his assistant manager’s role at Manchester City.
Fans were left disappointed with the report from The Sun that Arteta met with Venkatesham and Fahmy as they took to Twitter to react.
Here is a selection of tweets from the north London faithful:

The Arteta experiement begins I guess, never really been sold in Artie from the onset, but i’ll back him. I hope freddie stays too, he has the clubs best interest at heart.

What’s the hope? That he’s Pep 2.0? Bit of a long shot. Pep himself couldn’t do much better with the dross we have in our squad, so what chance does Arteta or anybody else have? I’ll tell you, none.
