Our Arsenal fans are desperate to see the good times back for their club here in the Transfer Tavern.

You can understand why they feel that way, too, as things have been pretty bleak in terms of trophies for a good decade and a bit now.

There’s been plenty of false dawns thanks to exciting squads and title challenges plus the odd FA Cup win but what the club’s fans really want is an exciting bunch of youngsters coming through to bring in the next chapter.

You do get the feeling, sometimes, that the Gunners would be better off tearing things up and bringing through a load of youngsters – getting rid of those that clearly have mental problems when it comes to a title challenge.

And, looking at what’s coming through at the club at the moment, that may not be a bad idea at all.

So, with that in mind, here are two youngsters the club’s fans need to start getting excited about…

Gedion Zelalem

The midfielder is continuing his progress on loan at VVV Venlo and is fast becoming the player that most of our local Gunners fans here in the Transfer Tavern want to see more and more of.

He can play as either an attacking or defensive force and looks like the kind of player Arsenal have missed for some time. Someone who’s going to raid forward with the ball and add some drive to their midfield – he’s definitely one for the future.

Jeff Reine-Adelaide

The right-winger should be fairly familiar to Arsenal fans by now thanks to his FA Cup appearances this season.

He’s got that fearless nature that comes with being young at the moment and that could see him be a breath of fresh air for the Gunners as they look frozen on the pitch at times when things get tough. Arsene Wenger should take a risk because it would surely pay off.
