Arsenal fans have been offering mixed reactions after Mikel Arteta was asked whether Granit Xhaka could be handed back the captain’s armband.

Ahead of his side’s clash with Leeds United, the Spaniard revealed that he doesn’t know if he will hand the responsibility back to the Swiss midfielder in the future (via Football.London).
Xhaka was stripped of the captain’s armband by former manager Unai Emery after he had a run-in with the fans during the 2-2 draw against Crystal Palace (via BBC).
The 27-year-old appeared to goad the fans after he was coming off the field when he walked rather than ran when he was substituted.
He has since returned to favour under Arteta, who recently confirmed on the club’s official website that the Swiss would stay this month despite links with a move to Hertha Berlin.
Fans couldn’t be split on their opinion of Xhaka being made the captain again as they took to Twitter to react to the quotes from Arteta.
