This January could see another bout of transfer activity at The Emirates. The Gunners have been linked with a fair few players, whilst the latest rumour, via France Football, has claimed that Ligue 1 club Marseille are looking into buying Nacho Monreal. However, the Gunners would hate to see their club let the Spaniard depart in January.

The problem with Monreal is that the veteran Spanish defender has just six months left on his contract and will be free to negotiate a contract with a new club in January as per the Bosman ruling. However, Arsenal fans everywhere will be gutted if the defender is allowed to leave and would all do everything possible to keep him on-board for as long as possible, even if the ex-Malaga man is getting on now at 32-years-old.
The report from France Football claims that Marseille aren’t only eyeing up Monreal, but are also looking at another Spanish Premier league left-back in the form of Liverpool fringe man, Alberto Moreno. The Gunners, and probably the Reds for that matter, would much rather see the French giants swoop for Moreno as they want to see Monreal see out his career at The Emirates. The 32-year-old has been with them for almost five years now and he’s one of those experienced heads in the dressing room that every club needs.

The Gunners are adamant that they don’t want to sell Monreal, and would only consider his sale if they get an amazing offer.
