Arsenal fans on Twitter look back at Arsenal thumping five years on

Liverpool fans will be getting used to giving Arsenal thrashings considering the way the recent fixtures between the sides have gone. However, today is five years since they managed a particularly memorable win over the Gunners, as half a decade ago they won 5-1 at Anfield having been 4-0 up inside just 20 minutes.

That game for the Reds, one that started their title charge towards the Premier League trophy in 2013/14 was one of the most memorable games of the whole season, so memorable in fact that BT Sport made a TV advertisement around it. However, that game will also be a reminder of that famous season where they fell short of the title, and that is not the way the Reds want this campaign to go.

This season has also seen Liverpool smash five past Arsenal at Anfield, as they demolished the Gunners 5-1 back in December, however, they need to continue their dominance and not fade away as they aim to do what they couldn’t in that fateful season. Either way, though, they’ll always have that famous thrashing over the Gunners to look back on.
