Arsenal fans on Twitter unanimously agree on Ozil’s best moment

Today, Arsenal fans everywhere have been taking to Twitter to wish Mesut Ozil a happy birthday as he turns 30. Arsenal fans account AFTV took the opportunity to ask the fans what their favourite Mesut Ozil moment has been in the German’s time at the club and the fans were all in agreement that it was his superb Champions League performances against Ludogorets.

All Arsenal fans will have fond memories of Ozil against Ludogorets. It was in the Champions League group stages of the 2016/17 season, the last season which The Gunners were in the competition, and Ozil shone in both fixtures against the Bulgarian side, scoring four goals across the two fixtures including a hat-trick at The Emirates and a sublime winning goal in the dying minutes in Bulgaria to secure a 3-2 win.

That famous goal away against Ludogorets was probably the best goal that Ozil has ever scored. After timing a run to to perfection he was played through on goal, lifted the ball over the on-rushing goalkeeper before feinting past two defenders who were back to make a goal-saving block before rolling the ball into the net to the delight of the travelling Arsenal fans. Ozil has scored goals against bigger teams in his time at Arsenal, but those memorable nights in the Champions League will live with the fans for a long time.
