Arsenal: Fans optimistic after Gianluca Di Marzio’s update on Thomas Lemar

Arsenal fans have been reacting with optimism after Gianluca Di Marzio provided an update on the future of Thomas Lemar.

The notable Italian journalist confirmed that the France international has received bids from Premier League clubs to leave Atletico Madrid.

Mikel Arteta’s side are said to be one of two clubs in England who are interested in a deal for the winger.

Arch-rivals Tottenham Hotspur are also reported to be interested in the 24-year-old, however, Spanish publication AS are reporting that the Gunners are the front runners to sign the ace.

A move for Lemar comes amid reports from Italian publication La Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Forza Roma) over the future of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who the club are said to have rejected a €10m (roughly £8.5m) bid for.

Mkhitaryan seems to be having a much better season than Lemar, having notched up more goals and assists than the Frenchman.

Fans were optimistic about landing a deal for Lemar after Di Marzio’s update on the player’s future as they took to Twitter to react.
