Arsenal: Fans react to Lionel Messi’s comments on Thierry Henry

Loads of Arsenal fans have reacted to Lionel Messi’s comments on Thierry Henry after they were relayed by AFTV Media on Twitter.

Messi said that he did not dare look Henry in the face when he arrived in Spain and claims that he knew everything that the French international did in England. According to the L’Equipe via Daily Mirror, Messi said: “I had an image of him made and suddenly we were on the same team.”

The 32-year old added that he feels ‘admiration’ for the former Gunner and highlighted his love for how ‘easy’ and ‘natural’ Henry found it to finish. Messi also described his dribbling as ‘fluid’ and ‘proportionate’.

In Henry’s debut season with the Catalan giants, he scored 19 goals and provided 12 assists in 47 appearances in all competitions, adding to the 16 goals and 15 assists that Messi managed in 40 games in the same season, according to Transfermarkt. That gave them a combined 35 strikes and 27 assists, showing how well the pair linked up in the 2007/08 campaign.
