Arsenal fans are split after reports from Turkey suggested that Mesut Ozil will definitely be staying at Arsenal this season.
Some fans were far from pleased with the reports the attacking midfielder would be staying, while others were pleased with the report claiming Unai Emery’s side need him for the campaign ahead.
The player’s agent Dr Erkut Sogut has commented on Ozil saying the playmaker would be staying, and also added the 30-year-old was training hard to force his way back into the starting line-up (Turkish Football).
Ozil has yet to make an appearance this season after a mixture of external security concerns, illness and lack of match fitness.
Last season proved a poor campaign for the Germany international as he scored and assisted just nine goals in more than 30 games in all competitions (via Transfermarkt).
Arsenal fans are firmly split on the playmaker and took to Twitter to voice their varying opinions.
Here is a selection of tweets from Gooners following the comments from Dr Erkut Sogut:

If he trains hard & applies himself I still believe he can have an influence on our season. Yes he’s not going to be starting every match but he does possess quality & has experience. If he was on half the wages this would not be such a talking point (IMO)
