The Arsenal fans leaning by the bar in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to get seriously concerned about their side’s striking situation…
With Olivier Giroud set to turn 31 next year, Lucas Perez struggling to break into the first team and Alexis Sanchez’s Arsenal future reportedly uncertain – Arsene Wenger has quite the dilemma on his hands.
No striking departures have been agreed or are expected over the next few months, so Wenger has time to spare – but it appears as though the Frenchman is not resting upon his laurels.
The Sun is reporting that the Gunners are keen on Torino star Andrea Belotti, who has been rated at £50m by his club.
Interestingly, the Sun note that whilst Wenger remains interested and will be keeping an eye on the Italian – he has been somewhat put off by the sizeable price tag – leading many in the Transfer Tavern to question whether Belotti is worth tracking at all.
Our landlord thinks that Arsenal are, at least in the short term, perfectly fine with the strikers they have available to them – though a departure or 2 could quickly change that.
The Arsenal fans in the Tavern are concerned, but they think that a couple of new contracts could solve their issues. Alexis Sanchez’s situation, in particular, is giving them cause for concern, with many fearing that the Chilean could leave as early as this month.
In that sense, Belotti would be a fine option, as proven by the clip displaying some of his best bits below, but £50m is certainly a lot of money for a largely unproven Premier League player.
