Arsenal are ready to rival Tottenham in the race for Crystal Palace ace Eberechi Eze according to the Sun. The winger has been Palace’s star man during his time at Selhurst Park and last season scored the decisive goal to win Palace the FA Cup and end a 164 year wait for a major trophy.

He has a release clause of around £68m and has now been added to Arsenal’s short list of left wingers. Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta has held talks with one of Eze’s representatives to understand personal terms which are not expected to be a problem.

Arsenal have been tracking Real Madrid winger Rodrygo but the fee required to sign the player is seen as a road block. Eze is seen as a more viable option as his release clause is more affordable and can be paid in installments. The 26 year old is also Premier League proven and would slot into Arteta’s system.

Arsenal tracking Eze

The England international joined Palace from Queens Park Rangers in 2020 and has become a key man for the Eagles.

He has bagged 40 goals and provided 28 assists from 167 appearances in all competitions for the club, and is regarded by many as the brightest talent outside the Premier League’s ‘Big Six’.

He finished with eight goals and eight assists last season in the Premier League as Palace finished 12th. He featured three times for England at Euro 2024 as the Three Lions made it all the way to the final but were beaten 2-1 by Spain.

His current deal is set to expire in June of 2027. Eze is also on the radar of Arsenal’s fierce rivals Tottenham who are looking to make a statement signing after naming former Brentford boss Thomas Frank as their new manager.

Tottenham were in for Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo but the player seems destined for Manchester United causing Spurs to pivot to Eze. It now seems Arsenal have made the first move for the player’s signature.
