Romero, 16, is regarded as the next Lionel Messi to emerge from Argentina and it looks like Arsene Wenger will complete a deal for the teenager in the summer.
The fee that is being touted is £4.5 million, a sum of money that would undoubtedly be a minimal price for someone who has the potential to become the next Messi.
Velez Sarfield president Raul Gamez has confirmed that the Gunners have submitted a bid for the youngster.
“Arsenal have made a big offer for Maxi Romero,” said president Raul Gamez.
“I don’t want to talk figures just yet but it’s a big offer.”
