It was one of the longest running rumours of the summer but it finally seems that Arsenal are set to land Iker Casillas is Metro are to be believed.

The publication has noted that the Gunners are willing to make the 33 year old an offer to join them – and noted that Arsene Wenger is keen on making the Real Madrid stopper his number one.

As one of our regulars notes, Casillas is simply on the edge at Real Madrid with Keylor Navas waiting in the wings, not to mention the fact that David De Gea is being constantly linked with a move to replace him.

At Arsenal, it would not only give him a chance to start a fresh but it would also allow him the chance to experience another league and potentially even add another league title to his belt.

Of course, some of our punters note that Arsenal are not in the business of signing players at the peak of their powers and Casillas would be yet another example of that.
