Arsenal reportedly agree terms with attacker as Gunners plot move

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern think that their side needs some major improvement…

Despite being just three games into the season, Arsenal’s upcoming fixture against Bournemouth has quickly become a must-win game. The Gunners have really struggled so far this term, winning just one game so far, and so it’s now or never for the side if they want to challenge for Premier League glory.

In truth, the prospect of that happening is looking increasingly bleak, especially given the Gunners’ lack of quality. Though the likes of Alexandre Lacazette, Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez are amongst Europe’s best players, the latter duo could leave next summer when their contracts expire, and that’s a big problem for the Gunners.

It’s important, then, that Arsenal look to rebuild and bring in new talent in an effort to calm the storm, and according to the Daily Star, that’s exactly what they are looking to do.

The Daily Star reports that Arsenal are confident that a deal for Thomas Lemar will be reached with Monaco in January, with the Gunners very keen to get the move done. The big news for Arsenal here, though, is that they are said to have agreed terms on a five-year deal for Lemar – making this transfer a whole lot easier to get across the line.

A real concern of the fans in the Transfer Tavern was that a lack of Champions League football could prevent them from bringing in top talent, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

That said, the hard work is still to come as Monaco won’t want to sell.

Landlord’s Verdict

Lemar would be a top signing for Arsenal. His technique, goalscoring ability and relentless running are traits that are eerily reminiscent of Alexis Sanchez, and so if the Chilean does leave, Lemar would be a top replacement.

He’ll be very expensive, but Arsenal need top quality players, and that is the current state of the market.

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern would love him to join.
