Arsenal have really asserted themselves as genuine top four contenders this season but with plenty of competition, they have a lot of work to do in order to achieve a strong finish.
Unai Emery will be fairly happy with how things have been going on the pitch but his appointment was with the vision of succeeding in a few years time.
Arsenal certainly have the foundations to become the English champions they once were but right now, their squad isn’t ready to challenge anywhere near that.
Business was relatively successful in January but the summer window will be a chance for Unai Emery to really identify the players he needs and wants.
The Gunners’ main fault this season has been their inability to defend at times and that’s something they have to improve in the summer.
A centre-back who would prove to be a vital signing for sure is Juventus star Daniele Rugani.
The Italian international, (who is valued at £19.8 million on Transfermarkt) is a defender that would really tighten things defensively for Arsenal, which is exactly what they need to do.
Having only made eight appearances in all competitions so far this season, Rugani’s future may be a lot better served playing for Arsenal, where game-time will be very frequent.
Arsenal have suffered on several occasions this season with injuries aplenty and without the ability to call on a defender as good as Rugani, they have struggled.
Their current options are nowhere near as good as Daniele Rugani, who could go from strength to strength with a move to the Emirates seeing as he’s only 24-years-old.
