Fans of the North London club turn to our landlord to ask just what he thinks.
The Gunners are told that one of their players, Bacary Sagna, is looking to leave the club, unless he is offered a deal that will see him earn around £100,000 per week for the next three years.
The French international defender is of course out of contract in the summer and has been courted by a host of Premier League clubs including Manchester City and Liverpool. Now it seems that he could well be on his way to one of those suitors.
Our punters note that Arsenal are such, for want of a better word, a tight club, who are very careful with their finances and we think that for a player of Sagna’s age, to invest in such a big, long-term contract could well be something that manager Arsene Wenger is not too keen on!
Sagna is a top player, but we doubt he is worth that much money and think that there are plenty of young right backs out there who could well represent the future in solving the Gunners’ defensive issues.
