Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern really are starting to turn against Arsene Wenger, even if another FA Cup win is certainly possible this season.
Indeed, it’s been another odd campaign for the Gunners with them failing to really make a mark in either the Premier League or Champions League.
Certainly, at the start of this season many felt that this was the year they’d come of age but they still haven’t and so for many of our punters the buck stops at Wenger.
Summer, then, could be a very dramatic time at the club and not just with their manager.
The Gunners could lose Jack Wilshere too who, currently on loan at Bournemouth, does not really know where his future lies whilst he also spoke about his aims for the rest of the year.
As quoted by The Daily Mail he said:
“I’ve got a year left at Arsenal. As soon as the season ends, I’l sit down and I’ll think about it.
“No matter what happens next year – if I’m here, if I’m not, if I’m at Arsenal, whatever – you know no-one wants a relegation next to their name.
“You don’t want to be involved in a team that got relegated so that’s what we’ re doing now, trying to put Bournemouth in a good position.
“At the end of the season I’ll have a think about it.”
Certainly, then, the England international could be on his way from the Gunners despite him being a very talented midfielder.
Crunch times ahead for Arsenal, then, as they look to try and forget another poor year.
