The Art of Football is the brainchild of ‘Premier League World’ producer Pete Spring. ‘Premier League World’ is one of the Premier League’s three weekly magazine shows that are broadcast across 211 countries.
Some of the biggest names in English and world football have put marker to paper and it quickly became apparent that a unique and extremely valuable piece of football memorabilia had been created. The Premier League decided to donate The Art of Football to Nordoff Robbins so that they could raise vital funds for music therapy.
Every Premier League Club has at least one player or manager featured and over 50 stars names from over 20 different countries have contributed. They include players expected to light up in the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ in South Africa such as Cesc Fabregas, Didier Drogba and Robin van Persie; England stars like Steven Gerrard, David James and Theo Walcott; and several high profile managers in Carlo Ancelotti, Rafa Benitez, and Harry Redknapp; the latter of course being a previous recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Football Extravaganza.
Artists all of them; they and you will help create a little piece of football history at the Football Extravaganza on April 12th in aid of Nordoff Robbins.
Graphologist Emma Bache, who examined each of the pictures, had this to say of Ryan’s effort…
“The signature has an accentuated right slant that goes all the way to the corner of the page, which suggests someone who wants to get on with things and is not interested in the past, they merely want to get on with the future. The drawing looks as if he’s got one leg longer than the other, but it mirrors his signature, so even in his drawing he can’t stand still, he’s moving forward and is optimistic. As for the stubble, it impresses upon others how masculine he is.”
