The Championship, as ever, has provided plenty of drama and intense footballing action this season, with Aston Villa one of the sides everyone loves watching. The Villains have scored and shipped goals by the bucket-load this season, although since Tyrone Mings and Kortney Hause have come they’ve certainly looked better at the back.

As you can imagine, with Hause and Mings combining well on the pitch and making Dean Smith’s side a lot harder to break down defensively, the Villains are more than keen to make the pair permanent additions at Villa Park. When the summer comes around it may cost the Birmingham club a few bob, but after seeing how well they stood up in the second city derby on Sunday, the money is certainly worth it.
When this season started Villa were in a very different place to where they are now. Steve Bruce was in charge and his time at the club was coming to an end. Defensive woes were ultimately what cost the now-Sheffield Wednesday boss, and it’s a testament to Dean Smith’s abilities to see how well he’s done to shore up his side’s backline. All that remains now is for the Villains’ calls for Mings and Hause to be made permanent residents at Villa Park to be made a reality.

The Villains all seem desperate for Smith to make Hause and Mings his first two summer signings and will be a whole lot more confident of winning promotion next season with the pair in their squad.
