Aston Villa: Fans show sympathy for ex-loanee Axel Tuanzebe following lack of opportunities

Responding to a tweet by The Athletic journalist Dan Bardell, many Aston Villa fans have shown great sympathy for ex-loanee defender Axel Tuanzebe following a season that has been marred by lack of opportunities and injuries at Manchester United.

The 22-year-old, who played regularly for the Villans during their Premier League promotion campaign last year, amassing 27 Championship starts, has found opportunities at his parent club limited this season – with the youngster having just three Europa League appearances and a handful of top-flight cameos to his name so far (WhoScored). Tuanzebe has suffered from various injury issues this season that have kept him out of action, missing most of October and November with a hip problem (Transfermarkt) whilst also picking up a knock which ruled him out until after the mid-season break (Manchester Evening News).

Now, assessing Tuanzebe’s current situation, Villa supporters have flocked to support their former defender – claiming his lack of opportunity is a ‘waste of talent‘. One fan even claimed that he is ‘better than Konsa‘ – find all of their best comments down below.
