The Aston Villa fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports the club could soon be changing hands.
Metro is reporting that the recently relegated Premier League side are in advanced talks over a deal for Larry Ellison to buy the club.
Following the club’s relegation to the Championship being confirmed last weekend, board members Mervyn King and David Bernstein resigned from the board over an email received from Lerner.
With talks with a British consortium linked with US computer magnate Ellison close to and end it appears Randy Lerner’s torrid reign as owner.
Ellison is the seventh richest man in the world according to Forbes reportedly worth a massive £35 billion, and the Villa fans will be hopeful that things will improve once a deal is concluded.
