Aston Villa are preparing for another busy summer in the transfer market as they aim to strengthen their squad for next season.
Under Unai Emery, the Villans have steadily improved and currently look set to challenge for another Champions League qualification spot.
With ambitions to compete on multiple fronts, Villa will need reinforcements, though their spending is limited by Premier League financial regulations.
Bargain opportunities will be key, and one name has emerged as a top target.
Aston Villa In Race for Harry Wilson
According to The Telegraph, Aston Villa are “among the leading Premier League teams” interested in securing Harry Wilson on a free transfer once his contract at Fulham expires at the end of the season.
The 28-year-old Wales international has enjoyed an impressive campaign, scoring nine goals across all competitions, including crucial late strikes against Chelsea and Brighton. With no new contract agreement reached at Craven Cottage, Wilson is attracting attention from multiple clubs.
Villa had monitored Wilson during the January transfer window, viewing him as a cost-effective addition to their squad. Fulham manager Marco Silva has described Wilson as “incredible,” highlighting his impact this season.
While Emery focused on strengthening the centre-forward position by signing Tammy Abraham earlier this season, Wilson has remained on Villa’s radar as they continue to seek a right winger — the position where the Welshman has excelled.
Everton are also keeping tabs on Wilson as they evaluate their attacking options, while Fulham may still try to convince him to stay for a sixth season at the club
Aston Villa are clearly positioning themselves to capitalize on Wilson’s contract situation, aiming to add an experienced, high-quality winger to their ranks without breaking the bank. With multiple clubs circling, securing the Wales international could be a key move as Villa look to strengthen their squad for another top-flight push.
