Chelsea have built up a formidable collection of attacking options heading into the new season, with Joao Pedro currently leading the line and Emmanuel Emegha arriving from Strasbourg to provide another option.
Beyond them, the Blues still have Liam Delap, Marc Guiu and Nicolas Jackson, who has returned after a productive loan spell with Bayern Munich.
That competition could leave one forward looking for an escape route, with Atletico Madrid now showing interest in taking one of Chelsea’s attackers to Spain.
Atletico Preparing Loan Bid for Jackson
Atletico Madrid are in talks with Chelsea over a potential loan move for Nicolas Jackson, with Diego Simeone’s side looking to add the Senegal international to their attack.
According to transfer insider Nicolò Schira, discussions are already taking place in London and Atletico are targeting a deal that would keep Jackson in Madrid until June 2027.
The proposed arrangement is expected to include an option for Atletico to make the move permanent, although negotiations are still ongoing.
Jackson spent the 2025/26 campaign away from Stamford Bridge, joining Bayern Munich on loan. The 25-year-old made 34 appearances across all competitions, scoring 11 goals for the German giants.
Chelsea remain in control of Jackson’s future, with the striker under contract until 2033 and valued at around €40m by Transfermarkt.
However, with Joao Pedro, Emegha, Delap and Guiu also competing for attacking minutes, a temporary move could appeal to all parties.
Jackson has previously been described as “very dangerous” by Brighton boss Fabian Hürzeler, and Atletico could now be hoping to unleash that threat in La Liga.
