The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate to see David De Gea stay at the club this summer…
The Spaniard has been linked with a big-money switch to Real Madrid in recent weeks, and given that a deal between the two clubs almost came to be a few years ago – it is likely that a transfer is a genuine possibility.
Man Utd would then, of course, need to sign a replacement of a similar quality, and if Manchester Evening News is to be believed – they may well have already found their man.
Whilst they don’t suggest that Man Utd are considering a move, Manchester Evening News are reporting that Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak would be willing to make a move to Old Trafford this summer – on one condition.
Indeed, the publication are reporting – as per a source close to Oblak – that as long as David De Gea moves away from Man Utd this summer, the goalkeeper would be willing to make a switch. It is said that the prospect of playing for a top club alongside increased wages is of particular interest to Oblak.
This has delighted the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern, with the Atletico Madrid shot-stopper arguably one of the best in La Liga. Indeed, he won the award for best La Liga goalkeeper in the 2015/16 season, which serves as evidence for this.

Oblak’s rise has been pretty remarkable. Since joining the club, he has quickly established himself as one of Europe’s finest goalkeepers – in many ways following in the footsteps of David De Gea at Atletico Madrid. An excellent shot stopper, decent in the air and very mobile – Oblak is arguably the perfect goalkeeper.
