Bilic must consider dropping 1 of these 2 players against Middlesbrough today

Slaven Bilic is under a bit of pressure at the moment at West Ham United, and word here in the Tavern is that a few more bad results could see him hanging on to his job.

The Croatian is not being helped by off the field matters, with Dimitri Payet playing rebel and Bilic refusing to select the Frenchman, while the club also refuses to sell him.

However, some of our West Ham fans over at the dartboard are buoyed by what they saw last time out, with Andy Carroll’s screamer sending our pub into raptures last weekend.

The Hammers though can still improve, and some players might well be looking over their shoulder with their place in the team on the line.

With that in mind, we look at two players Bilic could drop against Boro today…

Angelo Ogbonna

The Italian defender has been clinging on to his place really in recent weeks, and left the field at the halfway stage last week.

The return of Sam Byram may well see him dropped to the bench for this week and maybe in the future, with Byram’s ability to get up and down the right hand side something which appeals to Bilic and his style of play.

Pedro Obiang

It’s hard to really pick anyone else to be dropped following such a convincing performance last time out, but Obiang could be one who makes way.

Obiang has done little wrong, but Bilic might well opt for the youth of Reece Oxford or even change his shape against Boro.

It will be interesting to see, but Obiang will probably play unless Bilic has a big change of thoughts.
