It’s rather odd to see the West Ham United supporting locals in the Transfer Tavern smiling at long last following a rare Premier League win this season. 

The Hammers have struggled ever since moving to the London Stadium over the course of the summer, with Bilic under pressure to stop the rot.

Luckily for him, the Irons managed to carve out a win in south London on Saturday evening and his side finally looked like the one who thrilled at times last term.

Still, for much of the opening part of the season, many of his players let the former Besiktas manager down as they endured a dreadful few months.

However, there’s little doubt the east London outfit boast a strong side and it’s essential the 48-year-old sticks with some of his fallen stars.

So, with that in mind, here are TWO players Bilic simply must not axe in January.

Simone Zaza

Much has been made about Simone Zaza’s struggles in England since moving from Juventus over the course of the summer.

Still, the Italian international is one of few central striking options at the club and his performance looked like it was at least picking up against the Eagles on the weekend.

With a confidence boost, the Italian could prove a few people wrong.

Pedro Obiang

Though Spanish midfielder Pedro Obiang is far from a first-team fixture, he’s undoubtedly a popular member amongst the east London faithful.

A wonderfully industrious option from the bench, he affords Bilic an extra dimension.
