The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for their side’s form to pick up a bit of consistency. They’ve struggled to pick up more than a few wins on the bounce over the last few weeks, and that’s been very problematic for Mauricio Pochettino.
Fortunately, one of their most consistent players could be ready to help out by making a return soon, at least according to a recent update posted over on the Tottenham Twitter page.
According to the post, Wanyama took part in a section of training with the Spurs first team today, hinting that he is making some significant strides as he looks to return to 100% fitness. The fact that it was only a small part of the session does seem to suggest that he’s some way off a return, of course, but any step – be it small or large – is significant.

Unsurprisingly, the Tottenham fans over on Twitter have responded to this in their droves, and it’s safe to say that they’re delighted. Wanyama is, of course, a crucial player for the club, and it’s clear that he’s been missed during his absence. With many optimistically calling for him to return against Man City this weekend, they haven’t been able to hide their desperation for his return.
