Chelsea agree £40 million deal for Premier League star who is the “shining light” of his struggling club

Chelsea just keep marching on in the transfer market — and they’re showing no signs of slowing down.

It has already been a summer of huge churn at Stamford Bridge. Out the door have gone Noni Madueke, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Djordje Petrović, Joao Felix, and now even Christopher Nkunku, who is AC Milan bound.

Nicolas Jackson, too, is expected to soon complete a loan move to Bayern Munich, completing what has been a bona fide exodus at Stamford Bridge.

In return, the Blues have stacked their squad with a fresh wave of talent: Jamie Gittens, Liam Delap, João Pedro, Jorrel Hato — and now, it seems another blockbuster signing is about to be added to the list.

Chelsea Finally Land Garnacho

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United in a move worth around £40 million.

The Argentine winger had been told he could leave Old Trafford at the end of last season after a high-profile fallout with United boss Ruben Amorim. Chelsea, sensing the opportunity, have been lurking in the shadows ever since.

Personal terms with Garnacho were understood to have been agreed some time ago, but now the two clubs have finally struck a deal to make it happen.

It’s a move that might have some Chelsea fans raising an eyebrow given the acrimonious way Garnacho’s United stint ended — but make no mistake, the 21-year-old is a special talent.

Former Watford striker Troy Deeney described him as the “shining light” of an otherwise dreadful United side last season, a player who still produced moments of magic despite being shackled in a failing system.

Yes, his final year at Old Trafford was frustrating. But was that down to the player – a Puskás Award winning-one, no less – or the manager who collected fewer points than games played in the Premier League and who just managed to get dumped out of the EFL Cup by Grimsby Town?

Our money’s on the latter.
