Chelsea fans are stunned after our landlord tells them what Metro have been reporting about here in the Football Transfer Tavern and even our barkeeper is a bit shocked.
It seems that the West London club reportedly made a bid for Galatasaray playmaker Wesley Sneijder in the summer before deciding to turn their attentions to Barcelona star Cesc Fabregas who is leading the way when it comes to assists this season and has been a major part of the champions elect’s success.
Gala president Duygun Yarsuvat was speaking about the player’s future and admitted: “Chelsea made an offer for Wesley Sneijder at the start of the season.”
The Chelsea fans that are by the bar here in the tavern take one long sip of their drinks before turning and breathing a sigh of relief.
This is not because they don’t rate the Dutchman, who has of course already enjoyed a wildly successful spell under Jose Mourinho, but because they simply could not imagine life without Cesc Fabregas wearing the Blue shirt.
