Chelsea continue to impress under Liam Rosenior, winning eight of their last 11 matches across all competitions.
Several players have thrived in the new system — Joao Pedro has already netted seven goals since his arrival, Andrey Santos has dominated in midfield just as he did on loan at Strasbourg, and Jorrel Hato’s performances have shown marked improvement.
Yet not every star is thriving.
Liam Delap, once hailed for his potential, has struggled to make an impact in his first season at Stamford Bridge. Despite a recent performance that Rosenior described as “top,” the 20-year-old forward could be on the move this summer.
Chelsea Open to Selling Delap
Chelsea appear ready to consider offers for Liam Delap this summer, as the striker struggles to make an impact in his first season at Stamford Bridge, according to journalist Mark Brus.
The 22-year-old has found life in the Premier League challenging, netting just once in the league since his £30 million move from Ipswich Town.
With limited game time and mixed performances, sources indicate that multiple clubs are now monitoring his situation closely.
Industry insiders suggest a loan deal is currently the most likely scenario, though a permanent transfer has not been ruled out.
“Delap might not have much longer at Chelsea,” one source told Brus. “It’s clear that he’s struggled, and they’ll be open to a loan this summer – that could be with an option or obligation to buy, but don’t be surprised if they’re open to permanent offers straight away.”
Another source added: “I’d be surprised if Delap was still at Chelsea next season. Several clubs are already aware of the situation and weighing their options.”
At present, no formal bids have been submitted, and Chelsea have not held direct negotiations with potential suitors.
Among the clubs reportedly keeping tabs on Delap are Manchester United, Newcastle United, Everton, Brighton, and Sunderland.
“Man United really wanted Delap last summer and at one point felt they were in a strong position,” one insider remarked. “Their admiration for the player hasn’t changed.”
Delap’s future may ultimately hinge on whether a club is willing to provide him with the playing time he has struggled to secure at Chelsea. With the summer transfer window on the horizon, a loan or permanent move seems increasingly likely for the young striker.
