Chelsea have already made one of the biggest statements of the summer transfer window, completing a club-record £117 million move for England midfielder Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa.
The 23-year-old has agreed a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge, with the option to extend his stay by an additional season, as the Blues continue their aggressive recruitment strategy.
Speaking to club media, Rogers said: “I’m joining the biggest club in London. The way the club wants to go and how it wants to move forward is something I want to be a part of. I think it was just perfect for me. I just can’t wait to get going.”
The deal makes Rogers Chelsea’s most expensive signing ever, surpassing the £107 million spent on Enzo Fernández in 2023, while also setting a new record fee for an English player.
But Chelsea may not be finished strengthening their squad. The Blues are now reportedly considering a move for another England international: Marcus Rashford.

Rashford’s future at Manchester United remains uncertain, with several Premier League clubs monitoring the forward’s situation, including Chelsea, Arsenal, and Tottenham Hotspur.

There is reportedly some hesitation within United over allowing Rashford to join another English top-flight club, with concerns that he could return to haunt them if he rediscovers his best form elsewhere.
