Chelsea plotting £132 million raid on European giants for “super” young striker and Golden Boy nominee

Chelsea’s resurgence under Enzo Maresca shows no sign of slowing.

Now firmly established as Premier League title challengers and sweeping aside elite European opposition — highlighted by their stunning 3–0 victory over Barcelona at Stamford Bridge — the Blues look like a side built for both the present and the future.

Emerging stars such as Estevão, Andrey Santos, Joao Pedro and Malo Gusto are all thriving as the club’s youth-driven project gathers pace.

And with Maresca keen to keep the conveyor belt of talent moving, Chelsea are already lining up their next major targets.

Chelsea are reportedly ready to test Porto’s resolve in January with a huge double move for highly rated attackers Samu Aghehowa and Victor Froholdt.

As per TEAMtalk, the Blues are set to continue their aggressive squad building and have identified the Porto pair as potential long-term pillars of their frontline.

Froholdt — a 19-year-old Golden Boy nominee — has been one of the standout performers in Portugal this season. Despite the heartbreak of Denmark’s shock failure to reach the 2026 World Cup, he has excelled at club level, producing five goal contributions in 11 league matches and earning admiring glances from across Europe.

His teammate Samu has been even more prolific. Labelled a “super player” by Porto president (and former Chelsea boss) André Villas-Boas, the Spanish forward has hit 10 goals in 16 outings this term, on top of the 27 he netted last season. Porto are adamant he won’t be sold mid-season unless a bid of around £80 million arrives.

Froholdt, meanwhile, is believed to be valued at roughly £52 million, making the potential package worth an eye-watering £132 million.

Should Chelsea push ahead, it would be another bold statement of intent from the Stamford Bridge hierarchy — and further evidence that their youth-first rebuild is nowhere near finished.
