Chelsea fans are looking pleased here in the Football Transfer Tavern after the claim from The Sun that claims the Blues are set to allow Fernando Torres to leave for £30 million less than they paid for him in order to land Napoli’s Edinson Cavani.
The Blues have long been linked to either Atletico Madrid’s Radamel Falcao or Edinson Cavani this summer and have plans to finally get a big money striker into the club who can actually score goals consistently and now feel that Cavani could be the one for them.
Manager elect Jose Mourinho is thought to be keen on the Uruguayan forward and even tried to lure him to Real Madrid before it became clear he would be departing this summer and now is trying to get the forward at StamfordBridge.
Chelsea are willing to allow Fernando Torres to leave despite the forward improving somewhat this season – even scoring a crucial initial goal in the Europa League final to put Chelsea ahead while scoring to help the Blues beat Everton on the Premier League’s final day. The club are also looking to get Bayer Leverkusen’s Andre Schurrle in as soon as possible and the player himself has hinted a move is growing closer by the day.
