Comments set to annoy both Arsenal and Chelsea fans emerge from prominent pundit

Our Arsenal fans here in the Transfer Tavern think their squad sorely needs some leaders at the moment but they’re still not sure about Harry Redknapp’s latest comments.

The Gunners have been accused of being rudderless and spineless in recent weeks and, in all honesty, there isn’t really a case to argue against that right now.

Indeed, after crashing out of the Champions League to Bayern Munich 10-2 on aggregate, many have been quick to point out once again that there is a real lack of fighting spirit in the Arsenal team right now, with Redknapp no different.

And, speaking to TalkSport, he made a rather bold suggestion over who the Gunners should sign to remedy that.

He said:

“If I was the manager of Arsenal, I would take John Terry tomorrow.

“He would absolutely improve that side. That’s what they’re short of, they’re short of a John Terry – they’ve got no leaders.”

Indeed, you do feel that the Chelsea hero would make the Arsenal side stand up and fight but here in the Transfer Tavern we really can’t see that happening.

Terry is a Chelsea legend and the Blues love him whilst there’s also a real feeling of dislike towards him amongst many Gunners so these comments will surely be welcomed by neither group.

You have to say, though, the sentiment Redknapp is trying to get across still holds and so time will tell if the Gunners act accordingly.
