The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern were afraid that this news was coming…
After a couple of days of speculation, it has officially been confirmed: Man Utd forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic has officially been banned for three games – with the striker admitting a charge of violent conduct.
The decision, of course, stems from an incident with Bournemouth defender Tyrone Mings over the weekend.
This is particularly disappointing news for the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern, given that – most importantly – the decision means that Zlatan will miss the Red Devils’ high-profile FA Cup clash against Chelsea next Monday.
Whilst Mourinho will likely be concerned, the presence of the likes of Marcus Rashford and Wayne Rooney means that the Portuguese boss likely won’t be short of options, though both players are undoubtedly a downgrade on Ibrahimovic.
The Swedish forward has bagged an impressive 15 goals in his debut Premier League season, more than any other Man Utd player.
